The Golden Container

A man punished his 3-years-old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and he became infuriated when the child tried to decorate a box
عاقب رجلٌ ابنته ذات الأعوام الثلاثة لأنها أهدرت لفافة من ورق التغليف الذهبية. فقد كان المال شحيحاً، مما جعله يستشيط غضباً حين رأى الطفلة تحاول أن تزين علبة بهذه اللفافة.


Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift to her father while he sat drinking his coffee, and said, "This is for you, Daddy."
على الرغم من ذلك، أحضرت الطفلةُ الهديةَ لأبيها بينما هو جالس يشرب قهوة الصباح، وقالت له: " هذه لك يا أبتِ!! "


He was embarrassed by his earlier overreaction, but his anger flared again when he opened the box and found it empty. He yelled at her again,"Don't you know when you give someone a present, there's supposed to be something inside it?"
أصابه الخجل من ردة فعله السابقة، ولكنه استشاط غضباً ثانية عندما فتح العلبة واكتشف أن العلبة فارغة. ثم صرخ في وجهها مرة أخرى قائلاً: " ألا تعلمين أنك حينما تهدين شخصا هدية، يفترض أن يكون بداخلها شيء ما؟"


And he threw the box in the trash and buried his face in his hands.The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and said, "Oh, Daddy, it's not empty. I blew lots kisses into the box. All for you, Daddy."
ثم ما كان منه إلا أن رمى بالعلبة في سلة المهملات ودفن وجهه بيديه في حزن. عندها، نظرت البنت الصغيرة إليه بعينين دامعتين وقالت: " يا أبي إنها ليست فارغة، لقد وضعت الكثير من القُبَل بداخل العلبة. وهي كلها لك يا أبي "

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little girl, and begged
for her forgiveness. She hugged him back and covered his face with kisses. He gently took the box out of the trash and together they smoothed out the gold paper
تحطم قلب الأب عند سماع ذلك. وراح يلف ذراعيه حول فتاته الصغيرة، وتوسل لها أن تسامحه. فضمته إليها وأغرقت وجهه بالقبل. ثم أخذ العلبة بلطف من بين النفايات وراحا يصلحان ما تلف من ورق الغلاف المذهب

He pretended to take kisses out of the box while his daughter laughed and clapped her hands with glee. The two of them had a lot of fun together that day. The father promised himself that he would work harder to maintain a good relationship with his daughter, and he did.
وبدأ الأب يتظاهر بأخذ بعض القبلات من العلبة فيما ابنته تضحك وتصفق وهي في قمة الفرح. استمتع كلاهما بالكثير من اللهو ذلك اليوم. وأخذ الأب عهداً على نفسه أن يبذل المزيد من الجهد للحفاظ على علاقة جيدة بابنته، وقد فعل.

Father and daughter grew very close as the years went by. Then, a horrible accident took the life of the child ten years later and it is told that the man, who had kept that gold box all those years, took it out and put it on the table by his bed
ازداد الأب و ابنته قرباً من بعضهما مع مرور الأعوام. ثم خطف حادثٌ مأساوي حياة الطفلة بعد مرور عشر سنوات. وقد قيل إن ذلك الأب الذي كان يحتفظ بتلك العلبة الذهبية كل تلك السنوات، أخرج العلبة ووضعها على طاولة قرب سريره

Whenever he was discouraged, he would take out an imaginary kiss and remember the unconditional love of his child who had put it there.
وكان كلما شعر بالإحباط، أخذ من تلك العلبة قبلة خيالية وتذكر ذلك الحب غير المشروط من ابنته التي وضعت تلك القبل هناك.

Each one of us as humans, has been given a golden container filled with unconditional love and kisses from our children,friends, and family. There is no more precious possession anyone could hold.

كل واحد منا كبشر، قد أعطي وعاء ذهبياً مُلئ بحب غير مشروط من أبنائنا وأصدقائنا وأهلنا. وما من شيء أثمن من ذلك يمكن أن يملكه أي إنسان.
