Huson University College is one of the Balqa’ Technical University Colleges. It was founded in 1981. Since its foundation, the college has played an important role as one of the institutions concerned with technical and applied education as well as community service, and the provision of qualified scientific staff specialized in the areas of knowledge that fill the needs of Jordan and the region. In order to achieve this role, the college puts all its academic and management facilities at the service of the local community by offering varied and needed majors to fill the gaps in the Jordanian workforce. The college’s activities include a number of programs, courses, lectures and workshops with the participation of different elements of the local community that contribute to the fulfillment and the development of various sectors of the community. Huson University College possesses in some fields the scientific, technical and academic expertise in addition to the production tools, which could be converted into centers of production to supplement the national effort in the various fields of development. The college realized this role thus it worked hard to firmly establish it by developing bridges of cooperation with various economic, industrial and social sectors.
Twenty five years have passed since Huson College was founded and it is now in its eighth year under the administration of Balqa’ Technical University, and its sixth year as a university college offering Bachelors and Masters degrees in addition to Diplomas, so that in the academic year 2006/2007 the number of students has reached 3366. During this long journey, it has had the honor of encompassing some unique major fields of study, such as Software and Communication Engineering, Air-Conditioning and Cooling Engineering and Vocational Education. Today, the College aims for a substantial shift in these and other majors to be distinguished in its objectives, program contents and the output.

Continuing Service
The College plays a pioneering role in supplying the local market with qualified technical staff to work in the service of Jordanian industry and local development, and in appreciation of this role of serving the local community and technical education, the College was awarded His Highness Prince Hasan’s Award for Excellence for the year 2004, which adds to the confirmation of the College’s role in development.
