Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation of child
C.P.R
ــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــ
Suffocation  Air way obstruction :( two type)
1- Partial:
Sign and symptom  cough + الطفل يضع يده على رقبته
2- Complete:
The patient unconscious


Infant ( <1 year ):

- If an infant is coughing a getting sufficient air, DO NOT interfere with his attempts
- If infant cannot cough or cry, have someone call for help while you do following:
1) Lay the infant face down on your forearm. Rest on your thigh for support (A) - back thrusts -

2) Use the heel of your free hand to hit the infant's back 5 times sharply between the shoulder blades

3) Turn the infant over on your forearm keeping the head down. Place 2 fingers between nipples 1/2 inch below the nipple line and give 5 quick thrusts to the infant's chest (B) - chest thrusts –

4) Repeat until infant breathes or becomes unconscious


Children ( 1-8 years Old or to 13 ):

- If the victim can speak or cough forcefully and is getting sufficient air, DO NOT interferes with attempts to cough obstruction out of the airway.

- If the victim cannot speak or is not getting sufficient air, have someone call for help while you perform abdominal thrusts as follows:

1) Stand behind the victim and wrap your arms around the waist (A) - abdomen trusts -

2) Make a fist with one of your hands and place it just above the victim's navel
and below the ribs with the thumb and forefinger side toward you

3) Grab this fist with the other hand and pull it quickly back and slightly upward

4) Repeat until the victim breathes or becomes unconscious.

If the patient unconscious:

1. Determine if they are conscious by gently tapping and shouting "Are you OK?"
2. If no response, shout "Help!".
3. Ensure the safety for rescuer victim.
4. Position the patient on their back.
5. Check the breathing (look-feel-listen) if not breath begin basic C.P.R
6. Check A-B-C
• To maintain adequate ventilation.
• Basic C.P.R breath by mouth to mouth.
• 3-4 min  safe. 4-6 min  possible brain damage. 8-10 min  brain damage.

A-Air way
1. Try to sweep obstruction out of the victim's throat --- only if you can see it---don’t blindness sweep- ( if you can’t sweep obstruction by hand, begin back or chest thrusts for infant and abdomen trusts for child ).
2. If you ensure not any obstruction by any foreign body  3.
3. If no neck injury  Open the airway with a head-tilt chin-lift (Gently tilt the victim's head back by gently pressing the forehead and lifting the jaw in order to open the airway).
4. If the neck injury  open the airway with a jaw-thrust maneuver ( ).
5. Check the breathing (look-feel-listen) for 10 sec. if not breath  B.

B-Breathing
1. By mouth-to-mouth breathing,  place your mouth over the child's mouth or the mouth and nose of an infant. Gently give 2 breaths of air into the victim's lungs (each breath 1.5 sec.).
2. Check the breathing (look-feel-listen) if victim breathe  C.

C- Circulation
1. Check the pulse for 5-10 sec. by palpation - tips of your first two fingers -(infant brachial --- child  carotid).
2. If feel pulse  give 10 breaths of air into the victim's lungs and then check pulse ….
3. If not feel, pulse  begin chest compression.

Chest compression
• Infant  Gently by tips of your three fingers one above and two below the imagine line between nipple --- 1/2" to 1".
• Child  Gently by the heel of your hand above xiphoid (two fingers and one thumb) --- 1" to 1 1/2"
• Each 5 compressions give 1 breath --- (20:100 \ min).
• After 1 min. check pulse if feel give 10 breath, if not feel give chest compression again.


Stopped of C.P.R if:
1. The help coming.
2. The victim response.
3. Rescuer tired.
